The global publishing company John Wiley & Sons has announced that, starting this month, it will begin including alternative text (alt text) in nearly all of its frontlist books. Wiley developed its alt text guidelines in consultation with the DIAGRAM Center and other industry standards organizations and is one of the first major publishers to include alt text this broadly. We are delighted to have helped contribute to this important milestone on the path to image accessibility in mainstream publishing. See Wiley’s press release and Benetech’s press release for more details.
