NBP Report on SVG Conversion and 3D Printing

A new DIAGRAM report from Brain Mac Donald of National Braille Press aims at identifying SVG conversion software that is affordable and easy to use for publishers and other content providers so they can incorporate SVGs in materials at the beginning of the production cycle. The report also looks at the state of 3D printing for use in creating accessible materials and finds that “the 3D printer has the accuracy, resolution and the unique ability to create substantial height to emphasize a specific line or part of the graphic. This is a significant advantage for 3D printing compared to swell paper for example.” The final report is available on the DIAGRAM website at the following link: http://diagramcenter.org/images/documents/diagram%20svg%20rpt-nbp%20final.pdf. We would love to hear your feedback on the report and thoughts on its conclusions.
