Webinar on Distance Learning Resources for Parents and Teachers for School and Summer Coming Soon!

Happening: Wed, May 20, 2020, 11:00 AM ET

Benetech, Bridge Multimedia and CAST are joining forces to bring you this very special “unconference” supported by the Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs and the Institute of Education Sciences. Throughout the day participants will have the chance to experience lightning presentations and panel discussions from field experts on how to support students with additional needs as they navigate distance learning and take on summer vacation in these turbulent times. If you are a parent or teacher, then this unconference is for you. Registration is now open and more details are coming soon!

New Webinar Series on Accessibility

With COVID-19 making in-person conferences impossible this quarter, DIAGRAM was forced to pull out of this year’s CSUN (Cal State University Northridge) Assistive Technology Conference. To ensure that we still had the opportunity to get the word out about the tools and resources we have to support students with disabilities and our Born Accessible work, we partnered with DAISY who will be hosting an ongoing webinar series focusing on different aspects of accessibility and various tools that support inclusive distance learning. The first webinar took place on April 8th  and featured a Publisher’s Faceoff.  The faceoff was a chance to have a friendly competition where the accessibility of EPUB titles produced by a range of education publishers was compared. For anyone who missed it fear not. The full recording along with the speaker information, session overview, resources and Q&A can be accessed on the DAISY website.  The second occurred on April 22nd and focused on the strategies for making Math accessible to readers with a print disability.  The recording of the webinar, slides and resources for that are available on the making math accessible overview page on the Daisy website. More webinars are being planned so check back here often for more information on what is coming next!

Coming Soon:  Mini webinars on COVID-19 and Distance Learning

DIAGRAM will be putting together a series of short prerecorded 15 minute long webinars highlighting the work our community is doing in these times of uncertainty. During the coming weeks we will be reaching out to community members to learn more about the work you are doing and how it can support students who are in remote learning environments. If you already know you would like to participate, please reach out to Amaya at AmayaW[at]Benetech[dot]org for details on how to be involved in the project.
