Poet

On May 30, DIAGRAM rolled out several enhancements to Poet in response to field testing and user feedback. These included splitting each book into smaller parts so describers could work on more manageable units, image numbering, and some performance improvements. These UI enhancements are small but meaningful changes that belie the larger architectural shifts that are also taking place as Poet gets ready to fully support the DIAGRAM Content Model and EPUB 3.

A press release in May about Poet also picked up some coverage for our image description tool in the online media. A few samples of the mentions are below:

Tobi

With the release of DIAGRAM Content Model support last month, Tobi, the DAISY Consortium’s multimedia authoring tool, foregrounded the importance of image description. DAISY also released a Tobi tutorial (YouTube video) recently, mentioning the DIAGRAM Center. The video can be found at this link:  http://youtu.be/y7Ujtk2iSWo
