January 2013 DIAGRAM Training Update
DIAGRAM Training Webinar a Resounding Success
Bryan Gould, Geoff Freed, and Lucia Hasty drew almost 100 registrants for their webinar this month entitled, “Accessible Images: From Creation to End User.” Participants got fresh, well-presented information that included topics such as
- tactile diagrams overview
- decision process for whether to create a tactile diagram or describe an image
- how to create image descriptions
- how end users navigate image descriptions and what they sound like
- demonstration of DTB readers such as Read2Go (iOS) and discussion of DTB authoring tool options
- discussion of which devices can read image descriptions, including the gh player
- updates on DIAGRAM at CSUN
Comments from satisfied participants:
“Very informative and cutting edge information. We need more of this.”
“I and several of my alt text writers and reviewers attended. It was particularly helpful to get a short overview of the JAWS reader. It adds a perspective that writers don’t often get. Thanks.”
