Survey on 3D Printing for Accessible Materials in Schools
Many thanks to all of you who helped with Ting Siu’s preliminary research on the viability and practical application of 3D printing in schools. As of the closing date of the survey, Ting has received 162 completed surveys from respondents who prepare materials for students with visual impairments. 3D printing technology holds exciting potential as a means of conveying visual information in a tactile format for school-aged students.  In the coming months, Ting will investigate current models of 3D printing in various educational settings and interview various stakeholders who will provide more information on potential modes of access to 3D printing technology. The study is expected to conclude in mid-2014.
